Thursday night was a blessedly fruitful night of evangelism. Thank you everyone who stopped by to encourage and to help out! The booth was hopping all night.
It has been my experience that the Lord will often, by His grace, encourage those new to evangelism with an extra bountiful harvest their first times out, and this is something we certainly experienced last night. The thrill you get when you see the light of understanding dawn in someone’s eyes as you explain the gospel to them is not something you expect to see every time you go out, but the Lord gave us this treat several times last night. We also had some encouraging conversations with believers; most of which were looking for a good church! It was so very encouraging to see so zeal of our young people desiring to spread the gospel.
We were a little apprehensive evangelizing on Main Street in light of recent clashes between the sexual revolutionaries and moral conservatives (relating to the gay pride event in vets park in June), but we encountered no animosity and were met with an unusually abundant spirit of openness in everyone we talked too. Sadly it wasn’t only the forces of light that we saw at work last night; there were certainly demonic powers atwork as well. Sexual immorality was rampant, and we witnessed many people imprisoned in drug induced stupors – some were evidently on some high doses of hallucinogens (or demons?!?! hard to say). I guess the take away is that we are living in exciting times and there is still much work to do for the Kingdom!
We will be at Moore park doing evangelism next Thursday at 6pm.
Please pray for:
Cora – That the cares of this world would not choke out the gospel.
Trent – That the gospel epiphany he had would take root and bear a great harvest.
Zac & Vik – That they would get committed to a good small group (preferably ours 😊), and that Zac would come to a greater understanding of the gospel.
James and his family – That he and his family would get tied into a good church (preferably ours 😊)
Brenda – who seemed to really love the Lord, but included “you must choose Jesus” as part of her gospel – that she would fall in love with the God of Rom 9.
Emmanuel – who says we wants to “give his life to Jesus”, but can’t seem to let go of his sin. – that he would be born again! Also for his mom, who is not well.
Ken – who is paralyzed in his body – that he would have more mobility and that he would believe the gospel
That the many “paper missionaries” that we sent out at the booth would plant fruitful gospel seeds!
The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous person availeth much. James 5:16b
