Last night the Douds and our new friend Jordan (from Living Faith) made it down to the park for a bit of evangelism and we were all very blessed by our time sharing the gospel. After speaking with a couple of groups of people we stopped to pray (something we normally do before and after, not during, evangelism) and asked the Lord to direct us to those who need the gospel most. We began walking and immediately heard an anguished yell off to our left. The sound was like something you would imagine a demoniac producing. We walked over to the source of the sound, a found a young man whose appearance matched the sound quite well. We introduced ourselves and told him we were there to share the gospel of Jesus, he laughed and insisted that he was the wrong guy for our message. He called himself “Dark Fairy” and explained how he practiced witchcraft and drew upon dark powers. Our interaction stayed firm but loving, we told him about the coming judgment and salvation in Christ. From a human perspective it seemed that our chat was not very fruitful. The young man implored us numerous times to leave and even began to beg us to depart, and we obliged him after a few minutes, although now I kind of regret it as he was clearly in anguish. But we know that God can do great work even in our failings, so please be praying for this young man who is lost in a sea of darkness, and cannot find his way out, but for the grace of God.
Please also pray for:
Maria, Lispa and Perla – a catholic trio – that they could understand that salvation is by faith alone.
Michael – That he would be able to comprehend how Jesus is God and put his trust in Christ’s work for salvation.
